About Us
About Us
We, (Derek Judith and Ella) have been coming to Wells from our home in the midlands for all our lives. Judith learned to walk at Wells and to swim near the lifeboat house in the 70's. Derek was invited to Wells by Judith while they were at School together in the 80's. Married now and having got Ella (18), she has been coming to Wells from a baby. We still live in the Midlands having busy professional lives, but come to Wells as often as we can.
We purchased a small cottage as a retreat for ourselves and for others to enjoy in May 2012, as the family caravan was too old to keep on the Pinewoods site and we didn't want to lose our base in the town. Astonishingly we discovered that the property was next door to a cottage owned by Joan who worked with Judith's dad in the Midlands during the 70's (are you still with it). Fate had taken a hand so the purchase had to be the right thing to do.
With ageing parents who were starting to struggle with the stairs we decided to look for a home that we could adapt to make the sleeping and bathroom situation more comfortable. The result is Amnesea (13 Mill Court), designed by my good friend Jeff of Hasker Architects in Knowle near Solihull who knows that we like our home to be light and roomy.
We find that when we are at Wells we are able to unwind, relax, have quality family time together and forget all about our stressful daily lives; hence the name 'Amnesea' as all our worries fade away. (It's also the name our daughter's favourite song - by Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer - look it up - it's a good one!)
